Science and faith

Science and Scripture do not have to be at odds.

The Rosalyn Bible Experience includes scientific context where it can help viewers better understand the physical world described in or surrounding a biblical passage.

This project does not use science to prove or disprove the Bible. It also does not force Scripture into the form of a modern science textbook. Instead, it recognizes that science and Scripture often address different kinds of questions.

01

What science examines

Science studies the material world through observation, measurement, experimentation, and evidence. It helps explain physical processes such as light, matter, energy, biology, genetics, geology, and the development of the observable universe.

02

What Scripture reveals

Scripture addresses questions of ultimate origin, meaning, purpose, morality, human identity, and humanity’s relationship with God. It declares who created, why creation matters, and what the biblical events reveal about the character and purposes of God.

03

Where they can coexist

A scientific explanation of how a physical process occurs does not necessarily contradict belief in God. Likewise, a theological claim about God’s purpose does not automatically replace the need for scientific investigation.

The limits of science: The scientific method is specifically designed to test the measurable material world. Because supernatural events are not ordinarily repeatable or controllable in a laboratory, science cannot directly test God or place a unique miracle under experimental conditions. The absence of empirical proof for a miracle is therefore not automatically proof that the event did not occur.
Avoiding the “God of the gaps” fallacy: The Rosalyn Bible Experience does not claim that every unanswered scientific question proves divine action. When science has not yet explained something, it is presented as an open question rather than automatic evidence for or against God. Scientific discovery may explain physical mechanisms while still leaving deeper questions of origin, meaning, purpose, and ultimate cause open for philosophical and theological reflection.
Our approach: Each science component distinguishes between what Scripture explicitly states, what current scientific evidence suggests, and what the experience presents as artistic interpretation. The purpose is not to manufacture conflict or false agreement, but to demonstrate that biblical faith and honest scientific inquiry can coexist while remaining accurate within their proper fields.
Watch

Discover the mission and the creative process.

Rather than presenting Scripture as static text, the Rosalyn Bible Experience invites users to slow down, observe, reflect, and engage with the biblical narrative in a visually rich environment, on desktop, mobile, and inside VR. The goal is not entertainment, but meaningful engagement that supports careful study, meditation, and spiritual growth.
